I don’t care what anyone says. No one has the ingenuity to save money like a mom. We can make dinner happen for a family of four for under $15 (with leftovers for the next day)! So, other than a mom (like me) could give you amazing tips on saving money? (I’ll wait…) Don’t say I never told you anything valuable! Here are 15 ways to save money.
- Those who truly know me should have guessed that this would be #1. TAKE YOU LUNCH TO WORK. If you just have to have some delicious fast food (yuck…but no judgement) then only buy it twice a month. Save it as a payday celebration. You will save hundreds of dollars toting your own lunch.
- Make coffee/tea at home. Invest in a good coffee machine. It will save you so much in the long run.
- Write a list before shopping. Do not deter! You will thank me later.
- Create a cooking schedule. Cook certain days a week and cook enough to have leftovers.
- Have yard sale. Clean out those old closets and sell everything that you are not using.
- Start couponing. For any and everything. Clothing coupons at department stores can save you hundreds throughout the month.
- Cancel all memberships that you don’t use. If you don’t watch Netflix why keep paying for it?
- Buy in bulk. Whether you have 5 kids, 2 kids, or even 0 kids. Buying in bulk will change your life!
- Create a monthly budget. You will have to adjust it a few times for sure but having somewhere to start is amazing.
- Turn off all the lights at home when you are not in the room.
- Ride your bike whenever possible to any destination. If you can bike to work, then do so.
- Save all lose change for the entire year. At the end of the year use it for Christmas, vacations, or even new clothes.
- Have potluck dinner for the holidays.
- Find free festivals for the summer. Take your kids to somewhere nice…for free!
- Stay committed! You got this covered!
